In this extensive work, Grand Master Mansur tackles the complete program of the Kioto Jiu-Jitsu Self Defense, a system in which he has adapted the methodology of the system he learned from his Master, Helio Gracie.

The complete program, divided into 2 DVDs, "Basic-Intermediate (1)" and "Intermediate (2) + Advanced," consists of three levels: Basic, for the beginner that needs to work on the basics; intermediate, more detailed, which provides the necessary skills to confront the advanced level, which includes blunt weapons, cutters, and firearms.

Decent chapter stops - maybe 5 minutes for each. Each chapter runs over a couple of variations on different subjects (Submissions, Guard, Half Guard, etc.). Each technique is done once with explanation, then repeated more slowly AND from 180 degree view point so you can see both sides clearly. Running monologue explaining each move and why. Nicely done.

If you're unfamiliar with BJJ, you may not get as much out of it since the BASIC basics are not explained, but if you have a month of practice in a school, there's nothing you won't understand.

Recipient of only a handful of black belts ever given by Helio Gracie - there's NO QUESTION Mansur not only knows what he's talking about, but his movements show he's CLEARLY a master! It's not BS, this guy really does know his stuff. Very smooth!

For this series, lighting, sound and video quality are maybe slightly above average & perfectly adequate. For audio, the instructor teaches the whole video in Brazilian, but the sound is muted and there's a fluent English translation given in real time (added post production). The verbal is perfectly clear with good instructions as to what the moves are about and nice little "extras".
